How are monthly credits different from pack credits?
Investigate includes 500 AI credits each month, Resolve includes 1,500, and Resolve 6K includes 6,000. Unused monthly credits expire after each monthly allowance cycle and do not roll over. Credit packs are one-time purchases that top up any tier: 600 credits for $15, 1,750 for $40, or 4,000 for $85. Pack credits never expire.
Which credits are spent first?
AI NetShell always spends credits that expire first. On a subscription, the monthly allowance is used before any non-expiring pack credits. When the monthly allowance runs out, spending moves to the pack balance automatically.
What does one credit buy?
A credit is a metered unit of Included AI usage, not one question or one investigation. The selected model and the actual input and output determine the charge, so longer work can spend more and premium-model runs cost more. AI NetShell shows the measured spend for each investigation and your live balance.
What can I do with pay as you go, and what needs a subscription?
Free with a prepaid pack unlocks full read-only AI investigations with Included AI, including diagnosis, investigations across many open devices at once, and exact copy-and-paste fix commands. Every investigation with Included AI uses credits, and exact fix commands come with every investigation. Pay as you go also allows one manual backup at a time. Investigate adds maps on screen, discovery and drift, lifecycle views, history, monthly credits, and Your own AI. Resolve adds governed changes with your approval, a rollback point, a verified result, map exports, and the network report and as-built documentation package.
How does the Resolve trial work?
The trial is available only on monthly Resolve. It lasts 7 days, includes 300 AI credits, requires a card, and is limited to one trial per person, enforced per account and payment customer. Nothing is charged when it starts. Trial deliverables carry the AI NetShell watermark until the first paid charge. If the trial converts, that charge starts a full month of Resolve at $59 per month with a fresh full monthly allowance, and any unused trial credits expire. If you use your trial credits before the trial ends, you can add a credit pack at any time, or choose the 6K plan to start immediately. The Terms of Service cover trial enforcement, and the Refund Policy covers refund rules.
Read the Terms of Service → Read the Refund Policy → What is watermarked, and what can be white label?
Exports come with Resolve: map images, printable maps, the network report and the as-built package. During the 7-day trial they carry the “Made with AI NetShell” watermark; the first payment removes it. Documents come as PDF. The report cover keeps the AI NetShell logo. Investigate shows maps on screen only. White label using your logo and name is coming soon. Pay as you go has no reports or exports.
Can I change plans?
You can switch between Investigate, Resolve and Resolve 6K any time in the billing portal. The new plan's features apply right away; your new monthly credit allowance and price start at your next renewal.
What happens after I cancel?
Canceling stops the next renewal. Paid features continue through the paid-through period, then the account moves to Free plus pay as you go. Monthly credits keep expiring after each monthly allowance cycle and stop arriving when the paid period ends. Pack credits survive and keep funding read-only AI investigations. Subscription views hide, but their saved data stays on your PC and returns if you resubscribe. One manual backup at a time remains available.
Does it run on Mac or Linux?
AI NetShell runs on Windows 10 (version 22H2 or later) and Windows 11. Mac and Linux versions are coming soon.
What works when my PC is offline?
The terminal and local workspace work without an account. Connected account features keep working for up to 7 days offline: single-device reads and rollback stay available, while governed changes, Active Discovery, and investigations across many open devices at once pause until you reconnect. A reconnect banner appears after 48 hours, and you need to reconnect before the 7-day window ends to refresh access. Included AI, billing, and update checks still require internet.
What is the difference between Included AI and Your own AI?
Included AI runs through the built-in AI NetShell service and uses AI credits. Pay as you go and Investigate offer Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 4.5. Resolve and Resolve 6K also offer Claude Opus 5.5. Your own AI is available on Investigate and up: connect an Anthropic API key to use Claude Sonnet 5.5, Opus 5.5 or Haiku 4.5, or sign in with your ChatGPT account to use GPT-6.1 Sol or GPT-6 Luna. Those requests go directly from the desktop app to Anthropic or ChatGPT, your provider bills you, and they use no AI credits. An Anthropic key is stored in the operating system keyring. AI NetShell sends only the redacted output you trigger.
