ACCOUNT & BILLING
Your account
Create or sign in to an AI NetShell account, approve an app connection, replace a device, cancel, or request deletion.
Verified against AI NetShell 0.4.11
Purpose#
Manage the AI NetShell account used for plans, AI credits, and app approval. Sign-in happens in the browser. The app has no separate local password.
Before You Begin#
Use an identity you can continue to access. Sign in at account.ainetshell.com with Google, Microsoft, GitHub, or email.
If you are connecting the desktop app, keep AI NetShell open while you finish approval in the system browser.
Sign-in status refreshes hourly while connected. If the PC goes offline, offline mode keeps single-device reads and rollback available for up to 7 days. Governed changes, Active Discovery, and investigations across many open devices at once pause while the account is offline. A reconnect line appears after 48 hours; reconnect before the 7-day window ends to refresh access. Included AI, billing, and updates still require internet.
The Free tier has no included monthly AI credits. Connect an account and add a prepaid credit pack to use the full read-only Included AI experience, including investigations across many open devices at once. Pack spending stops when the balance reaches zero.
Pay as you go does not include Active Discovery, maps, lifecycle views, scheduled discovery and drift alerts, map and client deliverables, Your own AI, or governed writes. Manual backups for one device at a time, configuration comparison, and snippets keep working. The terminal and local workspace can be used without connecting an account.
Steps#
Create an account or sign in#
- Open account.ainetshell.com.
- Choose sign-in or account creation, then continue with Google, Microsoft, GitHub, or email.
- Complete the browser steps and any current legal-consent checkbox shown during account creation.
- Confirm that the account page shows Your account or your signed-in identity.
Connect AI NetShell through browser approval#
- In AI NetShell, open Settings, then Account.
- Under AI NetShell account, select Sign in with your browser.
- In the browser, sign in to the intended AI NetShell account.
- On Approve this device, verify the account name and select Approve.
- After Device approved appears, return to AI NetShell.
- Confirm the Status and Account rows. The Plan row names your plan once the app has read it.
Sign out of the account website#
- Open account.ainetshell.com.
- Under Sign out, select Sign out.
This signs the browser out only. It does not disconnect an already approved AI NetShell app.
Sign out of AI NetShell on this PC#
- In AI NetShell, open Settings > Account.
- Select Sign out.
- In Sign out of this account?, select Sign out.
The confirmation states that devices, saved credentials, images, and history stay on the PC. You can sign in again at any time.
Disconnect or replace an approved device#
- If you still have the PC, use Settings > Account > Sign out in the app.
- For a lost or unavailable PC, sign in at account.ainetshell.com.
- Under Approved devices, review the device ID and approval time. The current app does not display its device ID.
- If there is only one approval and you know it belongs to that desktop app, select Revoke. If there are several approvals or you are not certain which one is old, do not guess. Contact [email protected] from the account address and include the PC's approximate approval time.
- If the revoked app is open, select Refresh in Settings > Account. It reports This device was revoked. Start over to reconnect it. Select Start over when you want to connect it again.
- On another PC, use Settings > Account > Sign in with your browser, complete Approve this device in the browser, and return to the app after Device approved appears.
Signing out of the account website does not revoke or replace an app approval. Use revocation when a PC is lost, retired, transferred to another person, or connected to the wrong AI NetShell account. A revoked installation must complete the browser approval again before it can reconnect.
The plan button in Settings > Account is always available for plan changes and opens your browser. It reads Start free trial, Manage plan, or Plans and billing, depending on what the app knows about your plan.
Change your plan#
If you already pay for a plan, including the Resolve trial, select Change plan under Settings > Usage. It opens the Billing portal page on your account site, which sends you straight to your own Lemon Squeezy billing portal with no email step. If your browser is not signed in to the account site, you sign in once and then land on the billing portal. You can switch between Investigate, Resolve and Resolve 6K any time in the billing portal. The new plan's features apply right away; your new monthly credit allowance and price start at your next renewal. See Credits, plans & billing for where Change plan goes when you do not have a paid plan.
Cancel a trial or paid plan#
- Open your AI NetShell account's Billing and cancellation page.
- Select Cancel your plan in Lemon Squeezy.
- Complete cancellation in the Lemon Squeezy customer portal.
For licensing, charging, refundability, and cancellation consequences, see the Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
When subscription access changes, Discovery results, maps, drift alerts, lifecycle, and other subscription views clear from the current screen. Saved discovery records are not deleted, and the app reloads available records after subscription access is restored. Manual backups keep working.
Request account deletion#
Email [email protected] from the account address and request account deletion. A person handles the request. Review the Privacy Policy for information about retained billing or legal records.
Expected Result#
The intended account appears under Settings > Account, the browser lists the approved desktop app, and the app reports the correct access level. A revoked app can no longer use that approval. Deletion requests go to support for handling.
Troubleshooting#
The browser shows the wrong account#
Do not approve the device. Sign out of the account website, sign in with the intended identity, then restart Sign in with your browser from the app.
The browser says Device approved but the app is not connected#
Keep the app open while browser approval completes. If it remains disconnected, select Cancel sign-in, start Sign in with your browser again, and approve the newest browser request. Browser approval and return to the app are the current sign-in flow.
A revoked app still looks connected#
Select Refresh in Settings > Account. If the old approval remains usable, contact [email protected] with the account address and approval time.
I cannot find cancellation#
Use the Billing and cancellation link from the account site, Manage in your browser under Settings > Usage > Billing, or the customer-portal link in a Lemon Squeezy receipt. For refund rules, see the Refund Policy.
